A YEAR has passed since my last post, about half of that time spent travelling. One of my predictions turned out incredibly wrong: Saudi Arabia was actually really disappointing. Bland, inauthentic, with nothing really coming close to expectations.
On the other hand, I was right about feeling traveled out. I just don’t feel like it any more. Too much of a good thing, no doubt, but the disappointment of Saudi, followed immediately by more ho-hum in Azerbaijan really killed it for me. Thankfully, both Georgia and Armenia were excellent. 6 days in Bulgaria was about 5 days too long. Finally some unfinished personal and travel business a month in Vietnam after all that was excellent. Pics from that Vietnam trip, and from Georgia, are on the way- eventually! Now, I’m just enjoying being in one place.
