It’s hard to avoid Nairobi. It took our bus two hours to crawl through peak hour traffic into town, and we arrived just after dark. A taxi driver convinced us (as in me) not to attempt the 5 minute walk to our hotel. As we sat in traffic for the short run, a fleeing thief collided with our stationary car. Day time Nairobi is just another city, nothing to fear, but not the great drawcard of the country. It does have its own national park, also called Nairobi, where you can take a safari, see African wildlife, and visit the giraffe orphanage.

Nairobi traffic is a mess. It took us 20 minutes to walk to the National Museum. The evening before, our bus took two hours to complete the same journey.
