NATIONAL PARKS

WORLD CLASS, UNESCO LISTED protected areas range from the southern most parts of Thailand, along its western border with Burma, and through the eastern Isaan region. Its marine parks and waterfalls are often best known to farang, who too often visit on day trip.
Overnight stays are possible at many of the parks, where not only are tents, mats and sleeping bags available for hire, but popular parks have food stalls and small restaurants, serving true Thai food.
Whether it’s just the scenery, the birdlife, waterfalls, cool mountain air, or big mammals like elephants, Thai national parks are worth investigating.
