IN THE FAR EAST corner of Bangladesh, surrounded by India’s hill country, Sylhet would probably be my favourite city. There’s forests nearby, tea estates to visit, historic religious sites, and its where one of my cricket bats comes from.

Khadimnagar National Park was a very welcome break from the hectic city life of Bangladesh. I saw a few deer, birds, and almost no people.
